Welcome to Dreamshine!

We are a year round Adult Day Service program where people with special needs are provided with opportunities to truly shine. We encourage individuals to be active and as independent as possible with the assistance of warm and caring staff in an enriched environment. Our focus is to enhance socialization, independence, decision making, life skills, job skills and to promote a healthy lifestyle. We believe in providing the highest quality of care and programming possible. We also believe that all individuals have unique interests and abilities, regardless of current functioning level. We offer vocational training and paid job positions for all participants that wish to participate. The Dreamshine daily schedule is tailored to fit participant needs and interests. Participants have the opportunity to regularly volunteer at one of our community volunteer partnership locations (including a food bank and making blankets for Ohio foster children. Participants can also take part in our great educational learning program! Our Sunbury location is in a beautifullog home. Our New Albany location cottage style house. Both locations are bright, cheerful, warm and welcoming.

I observed staff to be consistent, calm and to have a pleasant demeanor. Other qualities of Dreamshine I observed were: collaborative teamwork, positive attitudes, innovative, flexibility in thinking, not resistant to change, ability-focused, priority in quality care, responsive and transparent, therapeutic communication, clean home-like environment, structured activities with an emphasis on clients increased independence and tapping into client relative strengths and gifts. We have multiple staff members trained in Medication Administration and Crisis Prevention Intervention. All staff members have current training in First Aid and CPR and all other state required trainings. Staff are given individual specific training for each participant that will be in their care. Staff members must pass a background check prior to working at Dreamshine. Staff who are driving must also pass a BMV driving record check, UA for illegal substances and a physical exam.
