Adult Day and Vocational Services:

Dreamshine's adult day program provides education in life skills, social skills, healthy living skills as well as job training skills.We also offer community involvement and volunteering opportunities. Currently, Dreamshine individuals who choose to participate are volunteering at one or more of the following locations: My Very Own Blanket, Helpline of Delaware, Body of Christ Food Pantry, Ohio Wildlife Center. Our volunteer group loves knowing they are helping others and each person shines with a sense of accomplishment as blankets are completed.

Dreamshine also has a great educational program for participants who would like to continue educational learning after highschool. We have a team member on board with a special education degree who completes educational assessments with participants. We also have a fantastic educational coordinator who puts together lesson plans and does ongoing educational tutoring with Dreamshine participants.

Dreamshine offers a wide variety of creative learning, vocational and recreational opportunities tailored to each individuals interest and needs. Participants can participate in a wide variety of activities, such as: bowling, out for coffee, library, swimming, hot tub (on site at Dreamshine!), massage therapy and ball room dancing (both take place once a month)

Did You Know?...Dreamshine covers the cost of monthly coffee shop outing purchases, ball room dance instruction,and chair massages for all participants!

Participants who choose to have the opportunity to learn the skills of making handmade, quality goods from scratch. Whether it's watering the garden, caring for our angora rabbit, creating gift jars, candles or processing essential oils, Participants are learning many skills and the value of team work!

These items are sold at our online store, our on site store and at special events. 100% of profit from items sold go toward participant activities and special programing items chosen by participants . After our fall festival in 09, participants did not have to bring in money for their off site activities for two months! Participants have the opportunity to make a regular income by choosing an area of preparation of goods that suits their interest and/or helping to run the online store (preparing orders, making calls, writing receipts, etc).

Dreamshine also provides recreational activities, weekly outings, daily exercise opportunities, educational tutoring and groups and social skill building. Our daily schedule includes both outdoor and indoor activities. Indoor activities take place in our fully heated and air-conditioned log home facility.

Dreamshine provides door to door transportation to and from each participant's home.Participants arrive to Dreamshine by 9:30am and leave for home at 2:45pm. Dreamshine's adult day program is open year round, M-F from 9:30am-2:45pm.

DREAMSHINE HOLIDAY CLOSINGS: Dreamshine will be closed on New Years Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day,Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the Friday before the holiday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the holiday will be observed on the Monday after the holiday.

Eligibility: 

We accept individuals who are on the IO or Level I Waiver.  We also accept individuals who receive funding from county taxes.

Private Pay is also accepted. Individuals may attend full time or part time. 

Individuals from any Greater Columbus area in Ohio will be considered.  If you are located out of our transportation radius, we can assist with arranging alternate transportation.
